Span Wires in the UK!

Check this out in the West Yorkshire city of Bradford, UK - it's relatively new, only about a year or two old.

There used to be an old Mellor one in nearby Leeds, but this was replaced with a mast-arm when the building it was attached to was demolished.

That is cool to see, especially since it seems many of your installations are post mount over there. What do the squiggly lines indicate approaching the crossing?

I know that, but in UK very rare :)

in germany I know one trafficlight like this

The squiggly lines means you can't stop there, as you're in the visibility area of the crosswalk. :thumbsup:

Maybe it's the picture, but those look EXTREMELY high!! :grin:

Yeah, that's correct. If you park/wait on the zig-zags, then you can get a £60 fine and 3 penalty points on your driving license. They use yellow zig-zags outside schools, to achieve the same thing.

I don't think they're any higher than our usual over-head street furniture. There is a legal maximum height set in the TSRGD - I can't remember it off the top of my head.
