I'm no expert, but I thought 27's were the only lenses used in Ruleta's.

That's what I thought too but I doubt Ruleta would have made Ruleta marked lenses for some other company  Did Ruleta make signals for places other than for NY like Essco made signals for places other than Chicago? I'm the signal newbie who doesn't understand all I know about this stuff.
If I can ever finish the restoration, it's going to look more like it used to than it ever did.

That Ruleta lens was made by Houzex Glass.

My Ruleta came with a mix of lenses:
4 Kopp 27
1 Kopp 66
1 Kopp 4627
1 Houzex E390
1 Corning Type H

I'm guessing Ruleta used either the Kopp 27 or Houzex E390, but then as the lenses were broken in the signal on the street, they were replaced with other types. Probably explains why mine has such a mix of lenses. Maybe someone knows the years the Kopp 27 and Houzex E390 lenses were produced?

The Ruleta lens I have is also marked Houzex and E 390 at the bottom. I assume yours is marked Ruleta at the top?

As Mike has pointed out, that is a Houzex and is absolutely Ruleta-correct. To the best of my knowledge, it pre-dates Kopp27s.

Once again, to the best of my knowledge, Ruleta only made sigs for NYC (all five boroughs). Horni (who later acquired the molds and produced a similar version) wasn't quite as particular.

DUH! I think it goes without saying that when you're Horni, you're never quite as particular!
