This style I like particularly because it reminds me of the GE Streamline or Econolite Bullseyes here in the US. Are these currently in production or an older style and what are the bodies constructed of?

Plastic or not, it's still a sharp looking sig. :good:

That is a very nice looking signal. Too bad it is plastic. Apparently there are some metal signals of similar design out there. I tried to get the seller to ship this from the UK but he would not do it. It sold for about $91 US. It even had a command STOP lens :lensstop: and a broad arrow of some sort. I don't know if the arrow was worth anything or just a common lens in the UK, but surely the STOP command :lensstop: was worth buying the signal for. Check out this link....

What's with all the quotes in everyone's signatures?

Andy or Simon would have to give us confirmation on this but I think that style dates back to the 40's in England. That is one of my faves too.

Wowsers, that is a nice signal (even without those lenses)! Too bad you couldn't snag it. :( Perhaps you should have contacted Lankyman to see if he would have been able to ship it for you...

The SGE/GEC/GEC Eliott signal head.

It was a slipfitter that attached a box shaped post to a standard SGE circular post, as you can probably see from the link, and then aspects simply bolted straight to this.

They were introduced in the 40s I assume, and in the 70s many had backing boards added which made them look like they had the dimentions of a Mellor lantern.

The SGE lanterns and Plessey Tin lanterns, and also Mellor lanterns all used broad arrows, the latter being in 12" veriety. In 2003 the law was changed so optics had to have the new style arrow if being installed new.

If you need anymore info, give us a shout :-P

Personally, I love the SB Huber, and would love one, two, three, four..... yeah, in my collection
