Here are a few pictures of a CH Porthole beacon I am restoring. This is how it looks now.
More pictures will be posted as work is completed.. I need 2 cast iron visors. Contact me if you have something available. :hyper:
I got most of the PH apart and ready to strip paint. More pictures...
These parts have had Clean Strip paint remover on them for about 15 minutes. More pictures later :tease:

I had 3 good yellow commands in it before UPS destroyed all 3 in transit. Everything was packed securley so UPS apparently dropped or dropped kicked the box a couple of times. I'm absolutely sick about it. I paid for extra insurance just in case.

Yea, I know how I felt when UPS destroyed my Eagle rodded flatback reflectors several years ago, but 3 command lens? That would have made a grown man cry! But anyway, looks like you got your hands full with this one and I hope you'll be able to bring it back to full GLORY!

Adding a few more pictures on the PH restore. Cleaned some hardware and getting ready to strip paint from the cast visors. As soon as beadblast is finished I am putting beacon in black primer. When I get to that point I will add more pictures.

Hi Chris,

You are moving along quite well. The brass hardware looks real good.

Not sure if I am missing something, but the visors in the last photo look like they are in decent condition. Otherwise if they are like the ones in the first few photos, can you possibly straighten the visors on an anvil horn or large steel pipe using a 3lb. flat edge hammer? I have been hammering out the dings in the aluminum visors for the CH Ds & DTs this way. I know the aluminum is easier to work with but you should be able to do the same with the steel visors. Adding heat would help.
Keep posting photos of your progress.

Cheers!
