looking for a good paint for outdoor signals

Postby DFWSignals89 on Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:42 pm

Hey Guys,
I am about to initiate a signalfaning sin and brush paint some signals. I found a really cool color i like from some paint swatches at ACE hardware however my plans are to take it some where where they sell cheap contractor paint that would be ideal for the outdoors. I bought some paint last weekend and it is still gummie on the signals and comes off with my fingernail.
I am looking for an industrial brand of paint that I can use on my signals and I also want the cheapest grade becuase I actually want it to fade and turn chalky.

Any suggestions? Im going to be painting a set up just as Dallas did with alot of its signals around Dealey Plaza where JFK was shot.

Thanks!

I like your Idea, The faded look is really cool!!! As long as it doesn't take 20 years to fade.

Ed on the other hand is painting all his signals with Tar, He has this stupid idea that the pollution in the air will make them rust

I'll bring the beer, You bring the feathers!!!
