What glue did you use to stick them back together???

This is an example of a gasket reduced in size and ends glued for an 8 inch lens. These fit into the door perfectly.

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

After I measured and cut the rubber gasket, brushed a little Weldwood contact cement onto the ends. Let them sit for about ten to 12 minutes and stuck the ends together. Let sit for several hours before use. The glue is strong enough that when I stretched the gasket to fit over the lens, it did not part at the seam.

Cheers!

Glue scares me. I know they hold but I've seen gorilla glue fail and I was confident in that product when it 1st came out. Just seems contact glue is something best left to sniff  I don't mean to throw dought and confustion into the mix so if it holds :clapping:
