We do use Protected/Permissive turns, in fact they're probably more common than fully protected - we just don't set the up in exactly the same way
In the mainland UK, we don't use ambers with Perm/Prot turns as they're not particularly necessary, however Northern Ireland does have some in some areas which is how the Republic of Ireland normally does turn signals.
Green arrows are placed to either the left or right (respective of the direction of the arrow) of the main green, or directly below it.
The only permitted sequences for right turn arrows are as follows:
R > R&A > G & GA > G > A > R
R > R&A > G > G & GA > A > R
R > R & GA > R&A & GA > G > A > R (Very rare for rights, but normal for lefts!)
R > R&A > G & GA > A > R
