Plessey in the house

Postby TacomaJoe on Sun Sep 26, 2010 6:18 pm

Just got this today with a short trip to Seattle.

Glass lenses

Brass hardware and screwed on doors

Paint's pretty much gone but I can see that the red and green sections were black and the yellow section was white. The flex for the wiring looks like it may be copper? (green patina). Lamps are 240V so it came from somewhere other than here.

Nice score, Joe. Were you able to knock them down from $200 on it?

The conduit was copper back then  and IMO that was the earliest style of the Plessey because it had the red command and the screw on door tabs. Later ones were rivited.

Joe. Were you able to knock them down from $200 on it?

No, I gave him the fact that if it was still available 4 days after listing it, it was probably overpriced. A good deal would have been gone in 4 hours. He had some other interest and it seemed fair to me, even with the broken screw on the red shade.
