Greetings all

This is the new member sandbox. Until you post a little something about yourself here, you don't get to play on the rest of the board. So tell us a little something about yourself and your signals.

New to the board here, been retired for a few years now after over 20 years playing with signals.
Mostly type 170 stuff but some experience with NEMA and pre-NEMA stuff, not to forget many years of working with the old electro-mechanical stuff, mostly Econolite and Eagle equipment.

Welcome Tom. I am still playing with 320 intersections after 34 years. With a pre-NEMA hodge podge, the city jumped on the NEMA wagon so I missed out on the 170s. Our controllers are split between TMP-390, LMD 8000 and Siemens M50. The mechanicals were all Eagle EA and then upgraded to EF20 (still have 10 running).

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Thanks for the warm welcome, looking back, I can see where I could have amassed a large collection of old signal stuff. But after working with it for so many years we were just glad to get rid of the old electro-mechanical stuff and be done with the extra maintenance involved.
Having spent so many hours at the bench cleaning and burnishing contacts sort of wore on you after a while. Dial units were so routine, and we had so many spares that we sort of did them in our sleep.
It was another time ( for most of us ), I can't really imagine anyone still having them still in use with the cost of replacement parts being so high.
At our facility we did two 'routines' per year, per intersection. A lot of maint.
Again thanks,
Tom
