CH "D" Art Deco Restoration

I believe that this signal will be the first one that will be restored out of my last signal haul. This signal appears to have never had gaskets on the lenses, is this the way it came when it was new?

More pic's later!!

Type D used cork gaskets. Gordon can make you some.

After some research I found that the D series signals started prodution around 1936 and the DT around 1952.

Did they mark the castings or anything that would identify the actual year produced? I will start taking this apart in the next few days.

Thanks,
Mark

Everything came apart fairly easy, except for one or two visor screws that will have to be drilled out. The hangar looks like it might be a challenge to separate from the top piece. Is there anything that I can soak the small parts in to remove the rust??

Let the fun begin!!!

As I was stripping the paint on the visor's, (several layers) it seems that the inside was painted green, not black.

What is the correct color for the inside of the visor's??
