Mirror Paint

I was looking around for something to repair glass reflectors, and came across this paint.

Has anyone used a similar product? How well does it work?

This is my first knowledge of such a product. You might have to try it and let us all know how it works out. I'm skeptical.

Any piece of glass that has an easy access to the back could be turned into a wonderful craft project.

Sounds like if you sprayed it onto a reflector, it would be applied backwards.

I'm wondering how or what you'd soak the glass reflector in in order to remove what's there now. Is it silver? How do you get the silver off the back side of the reflector so you can start with a clear glass reflector.

I was thinking of using this on the back side of the reflector after I clean up the bad area to bare glass. It say's to "spray on reverse side of glass".

Just thought that someone had maybe tried a product similar to this, it may be worth a try??

The silver is the mirror material and there is a protective coating of some type applied on top of the silver. There are chemicals (I don't know what kind) that remove the protective coating and the old silver.

Ah, I didn't know some reflectors could be cleaned enough to make them pure glass. That's cool.

I'm going to try it, the bad area was easily removed with a razor blade, and a 3M pad to clean up the rest. It's going to be a few days before I will be able to try this.

Here's some before pictures, and I'll post the results later.

Here is a great thread about reflector re-silvering that includes removing the old mirroring: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=9955&p=129352#p129352
