Removing Eagle Door C Clips

How do you do it???? I thought they would pop off like a regular E Clip.... nope!

Squeeze the short ends together with pliers. The clip will bend open. Flatten the clip out with a hammer on a flat surface before you re-install. (or buy new ones from McMaster Carr) Squeeze the wide ends back together when re-installing. Just don't scratch your new paint job with the pliers. :Phil:

These aren't made of spring metal like a regular C-clip. I usually squeeze the back ears with a pair of vise grips just enough to spread them a bit. Then you will need to bend them back into shape.

OK, got the two off I needed to.

Here was the deal, I originally wanted to take a door and get it color matched.... I like the slightly used look!

But once I got the door off, I found the paint (under the grime), is a bright yellow! Not factory, but not bad!

Just a sponge and warm water was all it took! I'm still going to get it color matched, as I have visors that need to be painted!
