Electro-Matic Stnchrolizer

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

I was wondering where that thing ended up...glad it's 'in the club'! :good:

What exactly it is, and/or what it does...? Well, I'll be waiting along with 'ya to get a clue from somebody more knowledgeable, I hope... :beg: :beg:

This is one of 'em, if not "the" one...? :Wink2:

Looks like it could be a fun paperweight toy DEVICE, even if for an "undetermined" purpose...?

You know, I had a funny feeling that it was that in particular. I came across that when the item was auctioned on EBay. I have no use for it, and I know nothing about it. Although I am sure somebody here could shed some light on it. Looks pretty neat.

The one from ebay is it. It looks good, no burned points, melted wires or anything and roller inside looks good.

It appears to be wired for two lights, i may have to find a plug and wire it to power it up.

A synchrolizer was a coordination device used for interfacing with early actuated controllers. It was essentially a dial unit with a single set of contacts to "yield" the controller.

Thanks Pete, so what your saying is that this in its self will not control any traffic signals?

Based only on looking at the ebay pix, that's almost certainly true. I find it odd that it doesn't seem to include gears to change cycle length, so it's not a master dial unit like others of that era.

I'll have to take some pictures of it which include inside of the unit.

I'll try to get that up on Sunday afternoon, headed to New Orleans with the wife for a couple days for our anniversary.

Any body needing anything from N.O. let me know, Cameron you see anymore Beacons you want in N.O.?
