Lens questions

Postby signal-in-the-box on Thu Apr 04, 2013 12:43 pm

Does anyone have any information on these lenses? They have horizontal lines, with a large dot in the center. They are rather common around here, but slowly disappearing as random sections of random signals get LEDed...

Not a great example, I'm sure I'll find a better StreetView view eventually...

And any information on this green "brick"-style Kopp lens, TL-4955 ?

The lens looks like a standard polycarbonate lens with an incandescent bulb behind it (the "dot" you're seeing).

I can't offer any solid info but the 4955s seem to be common in 12" heads that don't use specialized/logo'd lenses.
