South Australian Flickr user Baytram366 has posted some excellent photos of South Australian traffic lights taken in the 1960s, 1970s & this decade!

What the G+W Eagle signals looked like when new. They were installed during the transition from yellow to black. Mid 1970s

Originally opened to the public on 4th March, 1964, the school was closed in April 2011 to make way for the new Royal Adelaide Hospital. The school housed a wide assortment of different types of signals, signs and lights. Most were older decommissioned signals and signs but some were also quite new. The new school, further up the road at the Thebarton Police Barracks is set to open in late 2012.

That "School" set up area would make a great back yard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

If I saved those old signals on Valetta Rd & a few other neighbourhoods, I would give some a combo of black/yellow!

Great pictures Ryan! Thanks for sharing them.

So what are the sorta cone-shaped thingies on top of the poles?

They're special weatherproof housings for the terminal block.
