At the risk of stating the obvious, HAMMOND Clocks are quite "collectable" by themselves, and those two are BEAUTIFUL examples!! The Hammond Instrument Co. eventually became the Hammond Organ Company, (think "B-3") both due to the invention/perfection of the synchronous electric motor. (which in a later self-starting design became commonly used in signal controllers, too!) Here's a fun website with many of the Hammond clock models pictured...I have a few of the common ones myself.

Hi Tim,

Until last week, we really didn't know anything about Hammond Clocks. As to how much of a "collectable" it is doesn't matter to us. We liked the clock, the price was good and it needed to be fixed. We have a tendency to buy or trade for things we like and what the value may be to someone else down the road is of consequence. The value to us is what the item cost, the time taken to restore and use within our home. Plus we enjoy learning about many of the things we come across which adds to the thrill of the find.

As to our Hammond Clock... was really nice this morning to wake up, look at the clock and see the time without my glasses or squinting my eyes.

Cheers!

Hiya Folks,

Did manage to salvage one of the signs we acquired on our last vacation trip.

This is a Plaid Stamps sign from probably the 1960s. There is a little glare from the camera flash.

Side view with new frame.

This is how the sign looked when we brought it home.

Now we need to decide where we will put this sign and as to if we will Illuminate it with tube lighting.

Cheers!

That's a really cool sign! I used to work for the Plaid Stamp folks! Top value was out of Dayton Ohio along with the EF MacDonald Corp, home of the Plaid Stamps!

Hiya Folks,

We went on another road trip and noticed once again there is a real lack of old signage at a reasonable price anywhere we stopped. Saw very few old embossed road signs. Did pick up a few odds and ends for decorating the back yard.

Plan to set up the Phillips 66 sign/light on the outhouse. The handicap sign is embossed. The parking meter is a Parkometer with a date written on the inside of 9-25-59.

Cheers!

Hiya Folks,

We have now set up one of our new acquisitions from our last road trip. Had to replace the ballast and bulbs, plus do a little rewiring. Now this Phillips 66 sign with a manufacturing date of 11/69 is lighting up part of our back yard behind the outhouse.

COOL... :2Cool: :2Cool:

We had Phillips 66 stations all around Kansas City when we lived there, (15 years ago) none in Florida that I know of.
