new fun-toys today!

Oh mymymy, but what have I gone off and managed to get, now...??

Nick, you better sit down...

But yes indeedy, friends -- ME (who readily admits much more of a fondness for ker-chunka chunka machines and thumbwheels, over menus and microchips :good: ) nonetheless rec'd THESE from the nice FedEx deliveryman this afternoon! :clapping:

HUGE THANKS go out to DanB -- I'm more than happy to have been able to help "clean out your garage"...!
:clapping:  :2Cool:

More to come, sooner or later -- first I've obviously gots a LOT of learnin' to do, not to mention digging/scrounging/begging for the various electrical bits, so I can even try to blow power 'em up...? :dizzy: :panic:

and in the meantime, they'll still look :2Cool: joining the rest of my 'pile-o-controllers'...!

Cool stuff! Those are actually pretty old by my standards  :rotfl:

When you get to programming them let me know I'll get you running :hello:

Well, THAT didn't take long... (to find the first brick wall, that is... :rob: :rob: :rob: )

I didn't bother to check the Archive, figuring that these are popular and common enough controllers, so "the book" must be there...and of course, IT AIN'T... :fright: :panic:

Which brings us to dumb question #1 of what will no doubt become somewhat of a series, eventually... :sigh:

Does such a manual exist, and/or would anybody be so kind as to offer a clue otherwise...? :beg: :beg: :beg:

Why do you need a manual....you have me...

Seriously though, the manual exists. Its of little help unless you know what your doing from the start. It defines alot of terms and what you can find within the menus. Does not tell you how to program it.

I have a copy of the software manual in PDF form I can email to you... it is almost 300 pages.

So Nick, I am assuming a DP9000 Eagle Controller is prehistoric to your stuff? The DP9000 had volatile memory so when the battery died, it lost everything. Ive got a working DP9000 and its a cool looking controller but its more of a joke.... hahah

DP9000! Thats from the stone age! :Wink2:

It is a cool looking controller though! Reminds me of the EF140

HI Nick! :hello: I never made any claim to believe I'd actually understand what might be printed in that manual(s?) NOR to "know what I'm doing"...!! Even at that (or because of it) I tend to enjoy at least having the book to puzzle over -- sometimes, eventually, things start to click and make sense...?   :dizzy: :good:

But seriously, something (anything!) that can help define terms and things would probably be useful to me. Don't forget that I'm a nearly total novice at all this "advanced" stuff -- my actual understanding of phases and rings and overlaps (etc.) is admittedly TINY compared to most of y'all, probably! :Phil:

Looking at these with fresh eyes today, I'm now wondering if I can plug one into my homemade faux-panel...all its got is 2 phases w/ped outputs, and hasn't managed to blow up with the GammaTronix I made it for OR my little Transyt I got recently...mebbe I'll try that later today. (if there isn't cabinet AC on pin A, whatever that cryptic little message screenprinted on the front panel means...I'll check that too, I suppose...?)

Stay tuned! :blind:

WOW! Whod'a thunk it??

I daresay this is a somewhat promising "test run"...??

Sorry 'bout the crappy video, but there we have it -- at least ONE of 'em seems to work fine, just like they were supposed to do! (once I found the sweet spot on its contrast knob, that is) :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: It's obviously doing more than what my simple 2ph setup will let it show, in fact the LH sigs must have been a turn lane, since they only cycle once on power-up then rest in red while the RH sig continues to cycle periodically...I dunno yet...? :blind:

OH WELL -- I'm happy for the moment, anyways!!!
