NO. 27
At least you finally got them out!!
I had good luck removing frozen screws in my Eagle doors, by inserting the screwdriver blade in the screw and smacking it several times with a hammer. Make sure your on a solid surface and not stressing any of the hinges when you do the hammering.

I tried this method before I learned about using heat. It cost me a DT reflector.

NO GLASS in the light, I thought that was a given.

NO. 27
I haven't seen the #27, but I have one style that says NO. 27 and the other NO 27 (with and without the period). The font style is slightly different between the two.

I was still learning. It was my 5th light at the time.

I believe I may have a "last generation" version of this signal. The reflectors have the metal rings, the wires are plastic coated, the Kopp 27 lenses are the later kind, and no manufacturer name is stamped or embossed anywhere. I guess it's from the mid-late 40s.
I have a "parts" Horni beacon that has been out of sight/mind for a while. I just checked and it appears to have the same reflectors as your later vintage Ruleta - metal inserts that may not be aluminum because they appear rusty -but I do have 2 reflectors that look like the rings are aluminum. The ones that are all glass have a black back, while the ones with metal rings have a silver back. Does anyone know for sure if Ruleta and Horni reflectors are interchangeable?

Ya, but that's a freakishly early version...
Are all the lenses in that early one Holophanes?

I don't know as six of the eight are missing. The other two are there because they were protected by their cast aluminum nipple doors. Great protection if you ask me. (Fashion tip ladies!)

I finally found this thread again after I found a Ruleta lens. Anyway, when I asked earlier about why Kopp 27s marked lenses and not Ruleta marked lenses were used in Ruleta signals, I thought I had a Ruleta lens but I couldn't find it, so I thought I must be thinking of Horni marked lenses. Today though, I found the lens pictured below and since I'm missing a green in a Ruleta, is there any reason from a "purist" standpoint not to use it, other than the fact it doesn't match the Kopp 27s?
