Unfortunately, your city is far from the last city using EF controllers...Columbus still has loads of them around, especially on Neil Ave. where they used to be all interconnected, but now it's just random stop-and-go :rob: . They even have some old Electro-Matic cabinets still in service!

We have several cities here in Georgia still running EFs and up until a few months ago an EVAC.

Sorry, my bad.

You should wield your newfound power carefully. Might I suggest lamenting about how you're overworked and underpaid? It hasn't worked for me but perhaps you'll have better luck...

Joe, I'm not sure if you're kidding or not. You have to be a member to see anything posted here so unless someone else at your place has created an account here I don't see how they could have found out.

Resurrecting an old thread.

I am keeping my fingers crossed but I might be getting one of these pressure pads from the City of Dallas soon, or at least part of one. I have been paying attention to these old detectors in the street and Dallas probably has a few hundreds still imbedded in their streets. Although long defunct, they still exist and some in good shape too! I am planning on going out and taking pictures of some soon.

Joe, any luck getting one from the streets department?

No, but I don't know if I want one. I saw a couple of them being removed and the mass of concrete involved caused my interest to wane. The steel frame itself probably weighs over 100 pounds. Probably a day of jack hammer work to chip the ton of concrete off of it.

I should be making a trip over to the Streets department in the next week or so to dig through their stuff. Working for the Uptown M-Line trolley, we do a lot of business with the city Streets and Signal departments so we have tight connections. I was always under the impression that these were pneumatic.

Driving around North Dallas the other day and stopped at an intersection with these pressure pads and noticed that one of the ID plates on the pad was badged as Eagle Signal. I had no idea they made these as well? Any thoughts?

OK Guys, here's an oddball question. Is there any particular reason the huge heavy imbedded-in-concrete frame part of these things would be absolutely required, for instance if one was thinking of installing on a driveway (instead of a city street) where there would not be any serious traffic??

Or in other words, could just the "pad" portion of the entire assembly be made operable by itself??

and Sean -- did 'ya ever have any luck with the City Streets/Signal dept.?? :Wink2:

I believe Eagle sold Electro-Matic equipment at one point (I remember seeing them in the Eagle catalog). They probably just made the plate as custom.
