My name is Alex B. Currently I am a student at Virginia Tech studying Civil Engineering. It is studying Civil Engineering that I took Traffic and Highway courses which sparked my interest in Transportation. Some of my favorite parts of Transportation is the signage and how people comprehend what the sign is trying to communicate. Additionally, I enjoy how highways/traffic is the circulatory system of the country and without it, there is no chance of life.
Recently, I have stumbled up ads and posts places which advertise old traffic lights and signs and I found myself wanting to have some. Since then, I have been spending a lot of time online trying to figure out things such as, how to acquire lights, which ones/styles are rare/common, how top hook up lights with controllers, what are common process and what are rip-offs..etc. That is why I decided I wanted to join this community. My passion for engineering, fixing things, and transportation sparked my interest to start collecting traffic devices.
Until I am firmly rooted one place, I don't plan on trying to obtain a respectable collection, I am just looking for some things that are interesting and represent the American transportation system.
Some of my other interests include sports, camping, skiing, and dreaming of the day that I can own garage and use it to work on motorcycles and cars.
