I recall seeing someone's Eagle beacon with the same bottom as yours but with a flasher screwed into it.

It seems somewhat common for Eagle beacon's to have this type of base, but this old signal had one, and I think it's original to the light. The only mystery is that the original door was missing when I got it. It most likely had a blank door with a controller inside from what other members have stated.

OK Jerry......a porthole style d-light. The Eagle bottom has been repaired by Dave(some time ago)!

That base is different all together, looks like a cast reflector frame too. :yes: That blank door looks familiar.

No doubt, I just repainted one, cast iron I would guess.

Do you have pictures of that beacon restored??
