Hello from Elk Grove CA

Postby ChgrSteve67 on Fri Jun 22, 2012 6:33 pm

Hello and good day.
I'm Steve from Elk Grove (Sacramento County)

I have always been into cars and tinkering around with things. growing up it was with models and train sets and then later I started working on full scale items.

I reciently came across a LFE Signal light and my wife thought it would be a good idea if I took a shot at restoring it. Rather than starting that conversation here I will start a seperate thread about it and my progress in the correct area.

Anyways hello everyone and have a great weekend.
Here is a pic of my biggest restoration project.

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Thanks for the welcome wishes and the complements for the car.

Its an origional G code 4 speed car but it was pretty hacked on when I got it about 26 years ago.
Its currently a 383, 4bbl, 5 speed with a 3.55 sure grip rear axle.

The car had blue and gold plates on it when I got it, my wifes uncle had the plates from her Aunts 65 belvedere (long since gone) hanging on the wall of his garage in WA. CA started the YOM program a few years ago so I was able to transfer them to the car.

Here is a picture from yesterday, we attended a local mopar car show and took 1st place in the 66-74 Charger class. This is my Street Fighter configuration.

We drive the heck out of this car, driving it back to MI last year for a show and driving all of Route 66 from Chicago IL to the Santa Monica Pier. 6260 miles round trip.

Next year we are going to take it on another road trip to Yellow Stone, Arches Nation Park and a few other stops yet to be solitified.
