I've just had one break so far, will the bulb screw in far enough to make contact with the screw?? If not, I'll have to make a new piece.

I made my replacements out of some copper roof flashing that I had that just happned to be the right thickness. I was able to reproduce the part almost exactly. The copper solders great of course, but bends easier than the original part. I just made sure I didn't screw the light bulbs in all the way - if I did, that would bend the contacts down all the way and create a problem the next time I replaced any of the bulbs. So far so good :good:

I got 9 sockets re-wired and 3 harnesses made up today, please don't laugh at them Gordon. (first time at this) I left the wires long until I can figure out the correct length.

Still need 3 more of these sockets, then the 4th harness will be made. I do have some sockets that will work until the correct ones are found.

Aw shucks guys, I'm getting all embarassed. Anyway, thanks for all the kudos. It really means a lot!

BTW, looks like I'll be out of comission for making gaskets and harnesses for a few weeks. I'm going to get my left shoulder carved on next Tuesday so I'll be running around with my arm in a sling for about six weeks. But I'll be back!

Hope you have a speedy recovery, surgery is no fun.

The old CH sockets that you have to dig the ??? out of to get to the terminals, what do you use to cover the terminals after they are rewired??

Thanks for your tips and advice!!! :hello:
