There are run by a working mechanical controller, and it looks like they are on 24/7. The sets are about a block from each other.

That's disappointing, I expected older beacons than Type Rs. Cool find, though.

Still a nice find, not to mention set-up. Thanks for the sharing pictures.

This sure is odd. I am also surprised that the beacons are working/maintained.

I think the gum on the pedestrian's head is kind of impressive too.

Another odd thing about this (tiny and unnecessary) intersection, is that the crosswalk buttons activate the signals immedeiately, even if the vehicle signals have just turned green. It's also odd how the single (and short) ped phase is completely seperate from that of the side street, which is unnecessary itself.

Here is another thing (this one's local). Anyone seen two signals mounted above each other before?

The hand is backwards because they put the lens in the wrong way..... :glare:

The crosswalk button changing the signals instantly are most likely due to the cross traffic dwelling in green. Since its a small and apparently unnecessary intersection, its probably running in Free mode (no coordination with adjacent intersections) The green times out and goes into a dwell state until the next conflicting call.

Turning to green, then going right back to cross walk, my bet is that Minimum green is set to 5 seconds.... or less... that's gonna bite them in the arse when a ped button wire breaks :Phil:
