Signal And Stop Sign on shorpy.com

Go to Shorpy.comhttp://www.shorpy.com and check out photo entitled Penalty of $2.00. It is a signal by a bridge in 1908. In the narrative look for blue link Signal and you will get a close up. Pretty neat for 1908
Then look for Arterial Stop 1937 which is an unusual Stop with indented letters rather than raised. Good old Shorpy.com..

Very interesting signal and stop sign. I like the recessed lettering on the sign.

What's with all the quotes in everyone's signatures?

I know it is for a trolley,

But by whom and when was the first traffic light put in???
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Arterial Stop 1937 (a Lyle Sign Co. piece BTW)
