KS-2 question

Postby Easy on Thu Nov 20, 2008 12:00 pm

I just recieved an empty CH KS-2 cabinet, and I was wondering if someone here has one mounted on a 4 inch pole? I would like to see some pictures to see if it looks better with the 1 1/2 CH adapter or with a regular slipfitter.

I'm going to need the controller for it so if anyone has one that they would like to sell please shoot me an e-mail.

I will admit to being olde enough to have installed dozens of KS cabinets out in the street, but not one of them EVER on a slipfitter. Was that common anywhere?

FYI, we only used slipfitters up high where folks were unlikely to put their weight on them, usually only to mount a single ped fixture.

I want to get an idea on how the members display them. The one that I have is going outdoors.

I dont have a KS (never was a big fan of CH controllers) but I do have an Eagle EF-20 and i mounted it to one of my poles using band it straps and a bandding tool just how they did in the field.

I have never seen one on a 4" post, so I can't help you there. CH supplied angle brackets that attached via the condulet holes top and bottom. Ours always went on concrete or wooden poles, so we just bolted them on via that bracket. Two bolts on top and two on the bottom.

We always used the CH provided brackets on timber poles as vaughnsimon described...of course that was in the "real" world, not in the collector world...

Easy -
Here are some clues that might help you:
Old CH catalogs do seem to depict a 4" pole slip-fitter option:

This is what I was trying to explain. The controller is sitting on a slipfitter that goes over a 4 inch pole. I just need to find a slipfitter with an offset port so the controller could sit a little more centered on the pole. This is not the base, and pole that I'm going to use. The pole is going to be a little longer. Can anyone help me find the controller that goes inside? Can you guys from back east help me? Jay, Mark, O.T. Phil, Fred, Bandit!!

Cross bandit off, he's not into controllers.

BTW: Are those irrigation valves I see? Richdel jar-tops by chance? I always heard that everyone out that way has a system. "ol' big money Easy" !!!

Now here's a question, I have a cabinet and controller that is a couple inches taller than what Easy's showing, so is mine a KS as well? And, will my backplate and controller fit into the cabinet Easy's showing. (Depth and width are the same, just stands a few inches taller.)

I continplated doing the same with the one I have only I was going to weld the posts to the cabinet, looking for a cleaner finish.

:easy: ..... :this: When I grow up I want to be just like him!
