Rusty and crusty Econolite

I won a type F controller from ebay, inner workings were sight unseen since the seller had no key and couldn't get the door open. I knew it at least had a back panel in it from the pic of the electrical service hole on the bottom but what else was left was unknown. Take a look at the pics and you tell me if it is in good shape.

Looks decent on the outside.

Should have never opened the door! :hurl: :Phil:

Looks like it went through a storm surge on the Gulf Coast!

Pretty sure you got that from the same seller from whom I got my original Econolite type F cabinet, with backpanel but no controller, several years ago! That corrosion looks very familiar, but mine wasn't quite that bad!
Spoiler:
Although I did have to replacec the flash/auto/off switch because it didn't work, and I also had to replace the manual/auto switch because it broke into pieces when I tried to switch it!

TacomaJoe (at least?!) has certainly shown us all what can be done with things that started out looking like that... :clapping: (where's the smiley for 'worshipping at the feet of the Masters'...?)

Other than the 'rusty' bit, it looks otherwise mostly complete -- that'd be a good thing, no?? :good:

Looks like it'll be a FUN and probably REWARDING project...if maybe one that takes a wee bit longer than ya'd might have hoped...??

This will go into the ever growing repair/restore pile. :dizzy:

I think it will be easier to come across a better condition controller tray rather than bringing this one back. The back panel will be a fairly easy fix, needs a new auto/hand toggle switch and the dial selector will need replacing. And I will have to source out a flash transfer relay and a flasher that will work on this board.
