Sadly, you're right on that. The next toll road I know of that'll be created in Québec is the future A-30 around Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. Would be wild if the MTQ did install blue signs for that project! Then again, it would also be really great if they still continued to use shapes for their traffic signal lenses.

The squared edges is something I'm just not used to. I know older New Hampshire signs did the same thing, but I never really cared for that practice.
Ontario actually does have secondary routes, except they're more present toward the more rural parts of the province. And I don't really care for the 400-series highways either. I wouldn't mind them as much though if they used a different design as the non-400 routes.
Also, awesome photos from around Gatineau! The Ottawa-Gatineau area is a place I would love to explore, but I don't think I'll be able to get the chance to do so if I head to Montreal this summer. Can't wait to see more photos!
