!!Update!! The third coat looks pretty good!!

I'm just not used to this paint, the Rust-Oleum paints that I've used lately seem to cover quicker, but this one is getting there!!

The hardware nuts and bolts on my GE beacon will be left natural color and not painted. The rest of the beacon will be painted Gloss Dark Hunter Green Factory color match. If you prefer the natural look of your hardware try this product..Slide "No-Rust" spray. I have used this product for about 2 years and very pleased. It prevents the return of rust up to 5 years indoors. Wire wheel brush your hardware clean and very lightly spray on No-Rust and let it dry, 30 minutes, and you are protected. Displaces moisture, non-silicone with 5 year protection plus a can goes a long way. :good: :hyper:
Oops...posted this in the wrong thread :Poof: ! Well anyway it's good information

Does anyone have any sockets like this that they would be willing to sell?? Any condition, I can rewire them.

I know this is a CH socket, just trying to get all 12 the same. This signal has 5 different types of sockets, I have 3 of these and need 9 more.

Thanks,
Mark

The later style Eagle sockets (correct for your light) should be easier to find. They have ribs going all the way around them and are much shorter. I don't have a picture of one right now, but I bet you'll have better luck asking the group for those.

Thanks for clarifying which socket is actually original to this signal.

I believe that there are two sockets that came with the signal that have the ribs as you described above. There is another one that looks very similar to those, but doesn't have the ribs. I'll have to take a picture of the ones with the ribs when I get home.

Nine more of them would be nice if anyone has them available to sell or trade for some of the CH sockets that I have!!

Here's a pic of the one without ribs:

I built a small paint booth and found a squirrel cage fan, so the painting can continue this weekend. :hyper:

This project should be finished pretty soon!!

I was able to find 5 of the 8 sockets needed, I still need 3 more if anyone can help. :beg:

Thanks,
Mark

Has anyone tried changing the nozzle on these Ace rattle can paints?? I like the color (SBY) but this stuff is incredibly difficult to work with, it's like spraying on water. I think a lot of the issue is the spray nozzel, horizontal items seem to hold the paint ok, but it runs right off of vertical pieces.

I just thought changing the spray nozzel might help?? The Rust-oleum paints that I've used lately spray on very nicely, I wish they had a good signal color.

What I do is when I paint with multiple cans,

I keep the first nozzle from the first can and just keep switching until I am finished. I have a small parts draw with a plethora of nozzles.... As long as it is of the same design as the other brand(s) they should work. Meaning Inny or Outy.

However, The Ace yellow takes MANY, MANY, MANY coats because it has very poor coverage.

I went to Tractor Supply and painted a 4 way DT for someone with Majic Caterpillar Yellow http://www.tractorsupply.com/majic-reg- ... ow-1031000 and I am going to use it as a standard yellow for signals!!

Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Not a bad looking color in the second picture, first one looks a little white, but I think that's the reflection!
