4-way sighting in Albany, NY

Postby SirMarbelot on Mon Sep 03, 2007 7:55 am

Any of you guys familiar with Albany? I noticed a 4-way while travelling on route 787 this weekend. I would place it at or near the intersection of Basset and Green Streets (southeast end of town). Of course, travelling above these streets at highway speed, I didn't get a chance to inspect the signal at all, or take any pictures. It's on a spanwire, painted yellow, with cutaway visors, and I think it's the only signal at the intersection. I'd guess it's a GE.

Wow, way to use those eagle GE eyes!!

I *think* I can see a spanwire setup on Google Maps, but I don't see any roadway markings (stop here):

I recall that the instersection is among those multi-story "projects" style apartment buildings. The 4-way in question has probably been photographed and posted before, but you never know, I could have discovered another one! ;)

Maybe it's just wishful thinking. Maybe not. ;)

Okay, I freely admit that bigfoot pictures have been more compelling that this one, but I think this makes a pretty good case for a signal hanging there. I can't tell if it's a D or a DT though...
