Show us your NEMAs

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

I patterned it after my original EM cabinet. The light on top is from that cabinet. I grew up in Chicago & that's where my first signals came from if you were wondering about the lettering. The cabinet is made form walnut left over from another project. Many thanks to Joe N for parts & everybody else here who helped me

I like the look of that cabinet. I might be able to talk my wife into a new piece of furniture for the living room.

So, in a final ditch effort for these DP9000s, which had bad keypads, I decided to dive into the internal workings of the buttons to see if I could take parts from a similar NOS keypad and make these old ones work. The NOS keypad was the same size and brand but had a different layout. Much to my surprise, the internal parts were the same.

After about an hour and some plastic epoxy to hold everything back together, she works! I knew the controller worked but it was useless with a bad keyboard. I was able to key all the keys working and with help from Tacoma Joe in finding the access code, I got to programming! Now the DP9000 is running the backyard show.

At least, it's running the show for the 10 minutes to 10 days it will actually keep working, at which point you'll inevitably find some other old boatanchor controller to put in there.
