Ok, help me here, I'm wondering what the tag say's and it would have to be removed before the signal is media blasted. Would a little paint remover on the tag, reveal the info on it without destroying the tag. I've read previous threads on restoring ID tags, I'm sure this tag will be a candidate for a restore.

Original color was green or black. 1932-1935 at least, I think they were manufactured until 1937 though. Typical lenses were Holophane (command optional) or diffusing non command.

Thanks for the info Larry, like I said before, the archive wasn't working for me. The original color could be black, or dark green, it's hard to tell. This signal is going to be a fun restore, wow early 30's on this signal. :2Cool: I'm still a bit of a newbie with a lot of questions, but I have the knowledge of all the members to help fill in the blanks.... Thank You!!! :hello:

Looks like thick aluminum visors, and I assume the spiderwebs were original also.

I was able to strip the paint off of the ID tag today. This tag has 6 characters in the serial/model number, is this number significant to the age of the signal. I noticed the picture that Easy posted of his Novalux ID tag has 9 characters. Could I assume that 6 characters would indicate an older signal compared to the one with 9

I have an older, high hinge 3 door Novalux which contradicts your theory. My ID plate has a 9 number serial number.

MB, do you know what year they switched from the high hinge, to the one like I have?? Your signal has a different style tag.
