Reused signs...

Postby signal-in-the-box on Sun Jun 09, 2013 5:38 pm

While searching for any interesting traffic signals in Las Vegas, I came across a bullseye doghouse (square door for red section, but all others normal 'roundbody'... )... notice the sign, with the unusually large green dot...

Then, when I looked at the back of the signal, I noticed something else about the sign...

 That's interesting... how often does that happen?

I've seen sections of old signs being used to help hold the All-Way sign under stop signs to the pole.

Like one of these, the All-Way sign would have one the same size on the other side and the sign edges would be welded/bolted together.

The sign being spiced together is a Google streetview problem............

So, Can you stop using Google!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well what do you know. If I put my name here, I do not have to sign it everytime.

Quite a few signs around here appear to have been "printed over." That is, the vinyl sheeting with the actual sign printed on it has been pasted over an old sign. So in the right light you can see raised letters from the old sign underneath the new one.

From time to time, here in New Jersey, I come across signs like what you described as well. Pretty good idea, not to mention economical.
