Best Looking Signal?

Postby signal-in-the-box on Tue Aug 13, 2013 2:56 pm

Just wondering everyone's opinion on what signal has the best exterior design, overall. (I guess the back is what is mostly considered.)
Single-face signals specifically; any size, any material. Just best looks.

For me:
#1: Econolite Bullseye (by far)
#2: Econolite Buttonback [Aluminum, 12"]
#3: Marbelite [12"]

What do you think?

I guess on single face signals, an Ornamental Eaglelux would be my pick, but my Novalux is a close second IMO. It's hard to beat a solid body signal for looks.

As a native of New York City, I have always been fond of the 8" and 12" Marbelite traffic signals.

Single-face Crouse-hinds Art Decos, CH Type M 12 inch signals, Walk/Don't Walk pedestrian signals of any kind (except for TSI pedestrian signals), and 12-8-8 Eagle Flat-back signals.

Edit: I forgot to add Durasigs. All generations and both 8 inch and 12 inch.

I am a railfan, signalfan, and I'm interested in tornado sirens. I hope to learn new things about traffic lights because I'm interested in them and don't know much about them.
