I'd think that the fast flashing green is very handy if you want to convert to split phasing, you don't even have to change signal heads. I also noted last time I was in the Niagara region that during preemption the signals went to fast flashing green as a form of a confirmation. Having that beats using the floodlights for confirmation that it seems I am always replacing.

If Canada is going for uniformity, have all the provinces have Quebec/PEI style signals, with the horizontal double red (may be even shaped lenses)!

I noticed that Kitchener-Waterloo uses flashing arrows during the green interval instead of having a steady arrow which I kinda like over using steady green arrows. The yellow is still steady though.

They recently changed a flashing green in my neighbourhood with a 12-8-8-12 bimodal arrow but I know of several near me that still flashes.

Down here in Sarnia, they're all yellow signals. As a matter of fact, they completed a lot of work on a major road near my house and installed new lights in the intersection - all yellow bodies. They replaced a flashing ball for an advanced left with a green arrow too. I'll have to keep my eyes open around the city to see if they're starting to replace all of the flashing balls with arrows.

Hamilton does have nice signals. My old shop used to be on the 'mountain' and I travelled all around the city too.
