Reproduction Darley reflectors

Postby TacomaJoe on Mon Nov 19, 2012 5:27 pm

I have chased down a guy who could make reproduction reflectors for Darley beacons. My question; is there any interest out there and what sort of quantity are we looking at. Best guess would be about $30 a copy.

I'm thinking the bowl type for now.

Joe I could probably make the cone type if your lead doesn't pan out. Let me know how it works out.

Are the Darley bowl type similar to the ones inside a Harrington-Seaberg? I'd be interested in this type if it can be used in the HS.
A cop pulled me over and said, "Papers..." So I replied, "Scissors! I win!" and drove off.

Andy, the reflectors in my HS are glass and nothing like Darley reflectors.

They are much like any modern 8" reflector!

I would disagree with that. Darley bowl reflectors have a rim around them that I've only seen on Darley's for fastening the reflector to the porthole door. That is, the type of reflectors used in a single bulb per section Darley signal.

I meant Seaberg reflectors could use any modern reflector with little effort. :Phil:
