Great! Any other written command international pedestrian signals out there?

There's Warte which is simply Wait.
French have a warning for pedestrians crossing, now superceeded by a traffic sign placed in the lense.
Italians used to have peds with worded lenses.
Lots of places have BUS, or BUS TAXI on green or flashing yellow lights.

Of course, all our Push Buttons include WAIT in white when you press the button, or on the newer nearside models with Puffin nearsides, a bright red light. I believe a certain make of Spanish button also uses a Spanish version of WAIT in red, and includes a smaller red predestrian signal (no green), in a simalar manner to UK nearside Puffin signals.

There will be more, but AFAIK, that's the basis.

There are some written signals in Germany. I guess every city does its own thing ;-) E.g. in my town we have "warte" (wait) in the older signals. Now we have "Bitte warten" in the round form and LED technique, too. I will take photos...

All (known) forms are:
- "warte" (wait)
- "Bitte warten" (please wait)
- "Signal kommt" (signal will come...)
- "Grün kommt" (green will come...)

Those written signals come in different ways, e.g. in Schleswig-Holstein they have "Signal kommt" as static signals in red. Cologne mainly has "Bitte warten" as static signal in white. In the Sauerland (e.g. Warstein, Winterberg etc.) have those signals Ampelfreund mentioned. In the easter parts of Germany they sometimes use this rectangular form with "Signal kommt". In the Ruhr area you will maily find "warte" or "Bitte warten". This thing with "Grün kommt" is familiar in the Münsterland. Some parts of Germany does not have any acknowlegment signals and the poeple are often wondering about this flashing white light

HEH HEH! Before it loaded fully, I saw it for a split second before it moved to resize on the page...thought it was going to say "Bite Me". Image
A cop pulled me over and said, "Papers..." So I replied, "Scissors! I win!" and drove off.
