I haven't seen this mentioned after doing a search, so pardon if it HAS been brought up and shot-down. Or maybe I just can't see that particular forum..
But -
After reading many folk's recent posts, I'm surprised there isn't a "Projects" forum. Another automotive forum (Mini Coopers) I visit has one, and the rule is that if you're working on a project for the car, you post there - however, ONLY the original poster (the one who's project the post is about) can post and provide updates to it.
For example, if Joe, Fred, Nick, Steve, Bob, or whomever is going to be restoring some 4-Way they've never had before, keep us updated on the progress - start a thread in the Project forum. I, for example, know next to nothing about any of this, and am attempting to get a cabinet set up for railroad preemption. I will run into hurdles along the way, and will ask those questions in the appropriate forum.
It also gives a good look back for people to see what 'projects' others have worked on, and whether someone else has done a project similar to yours before.
The downside - and I saw a thread about this somewhere, people not liking this - is that rather old threads would be randomly popping back up to the top as folks update their project status notes and such.
Eh, just a thought.
