GE Crimefighter Hack

One free shell and buckets from Sidney Joe. Dig out a socket from your salvaged case sign. Grab a wall sconce for a security light, bolt pattern matches the light perfectly. Grind down one edge of the sconce to fit. Clean up an old junk 12" reflector and insert. Make a couple of retainer brackets for the lebs. Shoot it all with some leftover Ford Grey paint. Total cost? 1 lightbulb.

Yup, it's empty.

Great way to kill your grass BTW.

Draw up a CAD pattern, trace it onto some aluminum stock. Trim to shape.

Drill the mounting holes. Use the sanding grinder to fix the shape, the Scotch-Brite pad to finish the surface.

If it fits, it shines.

Nice.
As an added benefit your saving your electric meter from spinning like a CD. I'd hate to see the electric company have to come out and grease up the disk. They'll see it lite up and say "Man, we better make sure that wheel runs smooth cause those bulbs in those street lamps burn energy." They'll be in for a suprize
Do those street lamps burn a lot of electricity  I'm only assuming they do

That has got to be the "most unique" bedroom ceiling light I've ever seen...

Finally a use for all of these exterior round-box knockout plates kicking around the work truck since the Clinton Administration. :Phil:

25W frosted bulb painted Krylon orange has since been replaced with 25W frosted bulb painted ACE SBY. It now closely matches the orangey amber the real lights put out.
