Eaglelux Traffic Light

Postby classicradios on Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:02 pm

MY Eaglelux Signal is back from Sandblast & Powder Coat. I wanted to keep the original finish but there was extreme paint loss and everytime I walked by or touched it more paint fell off! I'm happy with the results using "Moss Green" powder coat, a great match for Hunter Green. I stripped, cleaned & polished all the original brass hardware and it really looks great against the green. Here's before & After photos.

Jim, that looks quite exceptional. Very, very nice.

I see you're using one of Dennis Kohl's concrete bases. He makes some nice stuff. I have a CH sign downlight on one and it's surprisingly stable (even with a 40 pound cast iron sign bolted to the pole).

Yeah, That's one of Dennis' Bases. I like the base just wish the concrete wouldn't chip away from the bottom edges so easily. I'm going to repaint the base a glossy Hunter Green to match the powder coat a little better. I've already replaced the short pole with a 3' pole, Looks better and stands over 6 feet tall now.

If you're having a problem with chipping, you might try gluing some of that clear edging along the borders. You know, the kind you get to kid-proof your tables and such.

I'm wondering if someone can give me some information about the Dennis Kohl concrete base mentioned in the post? Is there a website for them <which I just can't seem to find> or is he a member of the forum?

Thanks,

Jim
