EPIC 140 CONTROLLER FAQ'S NEEDED

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

It sounds like there was some garbage programming in it that goofed up the sequence. Or you were using inputs that were not connected to a load switch. I'll see if I can dig up information about EPIC backpanel standard connections. If you could, snap a few pics so I can see what you are working with.

Set it back up like you had it with the interval times. Go to the signal plan menu to map the individual intervals to an output type for each you want to use.

Set your recalls to minimum vehicle and pedestrian (2) in the Veh and Ped Recall menu

If you have lagging intervals, we can set up coordination with splits to time the intervals

Go to Photobucket or Flickr and post your pics there and link to them in here.

You could always create a Flickr account (its free) to host pics.

For a quick upload or two I like to use Tinypic.com...its very straightforward. The max size used 640x480 pixels to fit in the post.

I am definitely familiar with TF4140. It is the proper backpanel for your controller and is also the Eagle brand. It's the 6 channel version that was the Michigan standard. They came with the EDI SSM-6LE or similar conflict monitor.

So is it possible to program the epic for the left and right turn arrows and dog house signals with the epic and back panel?

The EPIC will do any sequence. It doesn't follow NEMA guidelines so you can map any interval to any output. It can operate a doghouse. Let me know how you want it to cycle and I can map out an interval plan.

How I would like the epic to work is just a main street doghouse left turn along with the standard 4 way with peds! If i could get a standard 4 way intersection with the old michigan left turn arrow that would be cool too, that way i can have multiple programs on the epic for different signal layouts. I still have to get LED's for my doghouse signal, as of right now its just an empty shell of signal housings without lenses.. :panic:

Well you can only program one type of sequence at a time to my knowledge. You can do the Michigan standard sequence like I charted out in an earlier post. Or you can do a doghouse left turn using an example I'm charting out now.

Stay tuned....

Doghouse EPIC interval chart. This sequence will need the monitor to be reconfigured so that it doesnt see a conflict between V1 and V2, V2 and V3
