Eagle lens gaskets

Postby mcha9797 on Sat Jan 05, 2013 8:37 am

I have been cleaning the lenses on the new 4-way and have found that the lens gaskets are pretty stiff on the reflector side. Are there "new" generic replacements that can be purchased somewhere, or should I keep the original one's in there. So far I have been able to remove and replace them without breaking any of them.

Ya that gasket in your pic looks pretty well roached. If your gonna restore the signal then replacing them would probably be a good idea, but if your gonna leave the signal as is there really is no need to replace in my opinion.

You should be able to get a hold of newer eagle gaskets out of flat backs that will be almost the same as what is currently in the signal.

Can they be soaked in CLR or something similar to remove some of the grunge, or will that destroy them more. It's obvious that they can't be handled much, a good soaking in something might improve their appearance though.
