KS-2 question

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

Fred,

Your correct on the valves! $9.95 at Home depot. You see the brown spot on the lawn? Do you know why the lawn is brown there?

$9.95 at Home depot

Can't get them at the home depot here, In fact I can't touch them for under $15 contractor cost.

I don't know anything about the turf out that way. Back east, if it's not over fertilized or gas spilage then it's usually grub worms when you see it die in patches like that. Also, female dogs urine is acidic and you need to lime those spots heavily. But with that said, it different across the entire country and I can't tell you for sure.

But if your not doing anything tomorrow, dig it up and ship it to me, I'll figure something out for ya.

those do look like jar tops... much more professional then the temp bed watering system I put together this year.... It's all inside now and I hope to actually bury the thing this spring. I don't need the lawn, just the drip system for the pots and beds.

I have a cabinet and controller that is a couple inches taller than what Easy's showing, so is mine a KS as well?

If you look at the middle page in the Ch catalog pages shown in the earlier post, you will see a listing of the standard CH cabinet sizes, Is sounds like you may have a cabinet from a GS. IF so, then a KS should fit in there just fine if the last 30 years have not muddled my memory excessively. You will need the controller bracket, which may be exactly the same between the GS and KS, or at least adaptable.

Sorry to hijack your thread momentarily Easy.

Vaughn,
You say KS or maybe a GS.
After measuring complete set up I have, it appears to be the #22 cabinet with controller on your reference sheet. The controller itself looks like it may fit into a smaller cabinet like Easy's, but I'm not sure about the back plate. But considering I have both cabinets available, it's not a major concern.
However, being somewhat unknowledgeable about controllers (but eager to learn) what exactly is the difference between a KS & GS?
Thanks in advance.

I am on vacation, so I don't have access to my CH catalog, but my memory is that the GS is simply a KS built on a larger frame so it can handle more circuits. Does anyone disagree?

Mike, I just emailed you sections 603 & 605 of Ryan K.'s scanned CH catalog. They were available online in Vaughn's archive, but I can't find the link now. BTW, thanks Ryan & Vaughn!!

From what I read in the spec, essentially, Vaughn is correct in that the G series can handle more circuits. Physically larger though so a G controller won't fit in a Size 16 cabinet.

Thanks Everyone.
I'll read up on it.

Now Back To Easy's Question>

I just recieved an empty CH KS-2 cabinet, and I was wondering if someone here has one mounted on a 4 inch pole? I would like to see some pictures to see if it looks better with the 1 1/2 CH adapter or with a regular slipfitter.

I'm going to need the controller for it so if anyone has one that they would like to sell please shoot me an e-mail.
