I've never understood why people do that. Why would they take the effort to call to tell the seller it's worth "so much more". Why not just buy it and resell it then? Why bother if you're not interested in buying it yourself?

I get it, because they're the newest member of the Justice League and don't want any signals to sell for anything less than full retail.

I especially like when you find a signal on CL and when members learn about it, you get the "I saw that, didn't think it was worth the money", "I saw that one too but talked to the seller and learned somethings weren't right", "I saw that one on CL too but wasn't interested."

My Intelight ESB head came from a contractor on St. Louis craigslist that had it advertised as "LED traffic light"

I've had OK luck with Craigslist, both in finding things and selling them. My two biggest were these, at the tips of other members (Ed on the D, Randy on the Eagle): http://www.flickr.com/photos/macsignals ... 537075808/

A lot of the stuff is overpriced or just plain junk, although the overpriced part makes it easy to undercut them!!!

Technically yes, but the title was pretty generic given the type of signal. 95% of the time when that pops up its a junky worn out signal with matrix style LEDs

Hi Guys,

Since we are hanging around the Winston-Salem, NC area for a while, we have been culling through CL and like some of you have mentioned, the lights are junky looking in our opinion. Then again, like our recent find of the Plessey Tin Lantern, we may not be a good judge by looking at photos. We are not in need of any signals at this time but figure if we did see something of interest, would try to pass that info on to club members somehow.

Cheers!

Seems everyone has had about the same experience on CL as I have. It's been a mix of the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've mostly relegated myself to only searching within a certain mile radius of where I live. This makes it so I can pick up personally as I really hate talking people into shipping or dropping a signal off at a UPS store.

Most signals I see on CL are either boring/generic and/or not worth the asking price. Also, being on LI, CL tends to include Connecticut in the Nearby Areas search because it falls under the Nearby radius, not realizing that there's a large body of water in the way. :Phil:

This was $25 though, and although it was completely gutted, I'm still happy with it.
