New controller addition (?)

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

New controller addition (?)

Postby EPAC-EPIC-MARC on Sun Feb 10, 2013 11:44 am

My contact at Intelight told me he's calling corporate Monday to see about getting me their X2 NEMA controller. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

The controller is the one in my avatar, but here is an up close picture of it in operation.

It would replace the Eagle EPAC M50 I'm currently running...but the M50 will remain in the collection. This is all dependent if corporate is willing to sell a single unit at a slightly reduced cost. My contact is VP of operations so I think that could play in my favor.

That's cool if he comes through.

It kind of looks like my microwave.

He has come through in the past, he referred me to the guy in charge of the programming kits for their signals and sent me some PDF literature in the past.

He told me "I need one of these" :rotfl: Its that bad when the manufacturers are telling me I need stuff? :panic:

Nice, Well done and good luck, Nick1 :)

That picture - did you take it? Is it 'in action' on an intersection?

Thanks! Hoping for the best! I will keep in touch with him next week and see if there is any progress.

The picture was from Intelight's Facebook page. It said that this unit is going to a ITE type show near Seattle.

It's nice Nick,
but,
It looks like they are still fairly new to the market. I'd be waiting for the X3 or X4 model which should have more features, have a smaller housing, and be probably cheaper.

Or am I wrong, and they have been around for a while?

The previous model was X1 which looked similar to this controller but it has a slightly smaller monochrome screen and far less features. It used the original version of their local intersection software "MaxTime" It's been around for a few years.

The X2 version has the color screen, and is google android based (apps). It has an integral web server built in so you can program it from any web browser. It uses a newer version of MaxTime. I heard they are working on being able to program it from a tablet or smart phone. As far as the size is concerned it is just an inch taller and an about the same width as an EPAC 300 M42.

Here's the manufacturer PDF on it: http://intelight-its.com/product/contro ... 303ef.html

Right now I've got maybe a 50-50 chance at snagging one :beg: .. If the stars align and I can pick one up, the next step is to make it mimic my current display sequence and cycle. If I don't hang onto the M50, it would go up for sale here.
