Just a few words to say hi and how I got here. I think of my self as a "Jack-of-all-trade's" and yes my friends like it when I "MacGyver" things for them. Well, one asks me if I could make an old traffic light work that she had bought for her husband as a present. Of course I said sure, I mean how hard could that be, a few relays and some timers, right!!! Well that was the start of my adventure. While traveling on this journey I hope to talk with all, share what little I know and pick brains with the best.

Welcome to the forums. I'm sure that you'll find all the help that you're looking for here. Many of us use solid state controllers for our lights. It's just a small card that can be mounted right inside the light and they run about $60. There several sources for these.

I have a 4 way flashing beacon that I built with time delay relays. Don't ask how, it was a long time ago and I don't have a schematic for it. It works great but the thing that I like the most is the sound of the relays changing state. The light has a great "tic-toc" sound to it.
