I don't suppose anyone was ever able to find out if these old GE's were saved when they were decommissioned.....
For anyone trucking through this area, it is not totally deprived of 4-ways to be found. To the west, just down the Chicago Road and off the main trail, or if you follow the right-of-way of the old Lake Shore and Michigan Southern "Old Road" rail line - now being removed - you will stumble upon a vintage Darley beacon cycling away in the burgh of Burr Oak, MI. Here's a photo and video of it from 2011:

I haven't been there to get any photos yet, but it also includes a sign under the signal frame.
One of the fun things I've started to do is mail a postcard to myself from the town post office if the PO is located at or near the corner of the 4-way. I did this near the ancient post-mounted beacon in Albion, RI and old time Darley beacon in Cumberland Gap, VA. Both Burr Oak and Waldron would be good candidates as well - The Burr Oak PO is just down the block from the Darley, and the Waldron PO is literally feet from the town's lone signal on that very corner. I'm sure the postal clerk will appreciate the business in these small towns! The Westphalia, MI post office is also just half a block down from that town's 4-way beacon.
