Signal Service Corp

Of about 30 pages in the Signal Service Corp (SSC) catalog, only 2 are dedicated to traffic signals and controllers. The rest of the catalog is for Stimsonite reflectors and stop/warning/highway signs. Unfortunately there is no definite date printed in the catalog. There is a year of 1941 on the "sample order form" in the back of the catalog, but I don't know if that year is the printing of the catalog or just a random year.

Here are the two pages of signals and controllers:

Awesome! I was considering this one for sure!

It very well could be from 1941. Marbelite took over SSC in 1945

Cool.

Since the company had manufactured its own signal controllers, I would therefore presume that S.S.C. had manufactured flashers for its beacons as well.

It seems apparent that the flasher in my S.S.C. beacon is totally original.

Mike, thanks for sharing these.

I'd love to see the reflector and sign pages as well should you get the opportunity to scan them in... :beg:

Francis, thanks for the info. So it makes sense that the catalog is from 1941.

Steven, that would make sense that the flasher in your beacon was also from SSC. I will be nice when you get it up and running!

Ed, not a problem. I can scan the catalog in and send it to you.

If you take the trouble to scan it. E-mail me a copy for tne archive. That would really be worth having!
