My mother's cat would kill a mouse, bring it home to the patio door, then eat everything but the guts and leave them there for us to find.

I wrote down in my original comment that the extra dial key for phase 2 just keeps everything in synchronization. If you were to pull that out, everything would be screwed up. I should have known that you knew that, but I just said that in general. Didn't think twice. I didn't want to sound like a smartass, so I removed the information from the comment.
