NEMA Cabinet

EM, NEMA, whatever - if it controls a traffic signal, you can talk about it here.

There's no "average" cost for any of this stuff. A NEMA setup can be built on the cheap (none of mine have cost more than $150 including the controller) but I omitted the conflict monitor in them all. TacomaJoe builds bare-bones setups to sell every so often just add your own controller, or you buy the parts and build one (having seen Joe's work in person, I'm going with him next time). Another member here 2070/Phil sells NEMA and EM cabinets when he has them, I think he still has some NYC Marb/GTE EMs in stock and NEMA cabinets. You're in NJ so just pick it up next 'Palooza meet.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $250 for a basic TS-1 cabinet. The more involved you want to get, combined with the availability of parts may increase the costs. Other times you can find stuff cheaper. Like Ian says...theres no set-in-stone prices for controllers.

I don't even want to begin how much money I've invested into my cabinet..... :Poof:

That depends in what you're interested in.

Computerized signal controllers are neat; however, in my opinion, if you want to control a very simple set-up (like what you have), then I would consider to use an electro-mechanical signal controller. They're not complex, and they're simple to operate. It is also nice to observe them while they are in operation.

Just my two cents.

I got my cabinet from phil and love it. It runs my entire collection 24 365. Last time I was there he had a few more just like mine.
